John Maxwell 3rd Lord Maxwell (1454-1513)

John Maxwell, 3rd Lord Maxwell was born circa 1454.1 He was the son of John Maxwell, Master of Maxwell and Janet Crichton.2 He married Agnes Stewart, daughter of Sir Alexander Stewart, 3rd of Garlies and Elizabeth Douglas, from 15 February 1491 to 20 February 1491/92.3 He died on 9 September 1513 at Flodden Field, Northumberland, England, killed in action.3
He succeeded as the 3rd Lord Maxwell [S., 1445] on 29 April 1486.3 In 1488 Battle of Sauchieburn.3 He held the office of Warden of the Western Marches.3 He fought in the Battle of Flodden on 9 September 1513.3 | |
