Från Legacy.com: RYAN, Anna Greta It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Anna Greta Ryan (nee Ahlen) on March 13, 2010 at Langley Memorial Hospital. Anna Greta was born November 12, 1920 in Orebro, Sweden, the fifth child and first of two daughters born to Petrus and Tyra Ahlen. In 1948, she came to Canada to visit her eldest brother in Trois Riviere, Quebec, but then ventured across the continent by rail. When she arrived in Vancouver she took a job in a downtown hat shop and soon met Clayton Ryan, an avid skier. In 1958, while living in North Vancouver, she gave birth to her first child, Thomas, followed by Karen in 1963. In 1966 the family moved to Tsawwassen and then to Osoyoos in 1972. Following retirement Clayton and Anna Greta lived in Penticton where Clayton died in 2004. In 2006 Anna Greta moved to Langley. Anna Greta was predeceased by her five siblings. She is survived by her son, Thomas (Linda) of Vernon, B.C., her daughter, Karen (Brad) of Langley, B.C., her four grandchildren, Haley, Patrick, Elizabeth and Amanda, and numerous nieces and nephews.
