Philip Leonard Gustaf Wik, age 72, of Cloquet, and formerly of Blackhoof Township, Minnesota, died Monday, August 14, 1995 in St. Luke's Hospital, Duluth, Minnesota. He was born on May 11, 1923 in Blackhoof Township, near Barnum, Minnesota to Carl & Hilda (Jonsson) Wik. He grew up and attended school in Blackhoof. He was a dairy farmer, farming on the family farm until he retired at age 50, because of health reasons. He was a member of Elim Lutheran Church of Blackhoof, where he served on the church council for a number of years. He was also a member of the Young At Heart Group of Mahtowa. He moved to Cloquet, Minnesota in 1988. He enjoyed doing crafts of all kinds, in his spare time. He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Hilda (Jonsson) Wik. He is survived by three sisters, Irma Duesler and Ellen (Fred) Lofgren, both of Barnum, and Esther Wik of Cloquet; and cousins, Oscar (Jean ) Lund and Edit (Vigo) Nelson, all of Barnum; and several nieces, nephews; and many relatives in Sweden and Canada, Burial will be in Elim Lutheran Cemetery, in Blackhoof Township, Minnesota. | |
