Very old noble family from Mark Brandenburg, where it first shows in the sources with Wolf Orten 1191. From Henning von Rohr, who lived 1287, the family line is known. His grandson Klaus, 1367, registred himself to Meyenburg, and his descendents acquired the estates of Neuhausen, Freienstein, Zernitz, Dremnitz (Tramnitz), Leddin, Trieplatz, and others, all in Brandenburg. The great great grandson of Klaus, Henrik von Rohr who was the lord of Meyenburg in 1448, had the sons Henrik d. 1521 and Alard, who lived 1497, from these the now living German branches stem. Henrik’s decsendents possessed Neuhausen, Freinstein, Meyenburg and others, while the descendents of Alard owned, among others, Dremnitz, Trieplatz, and Leddin near Prignitz. From Brandenbur the family expanded to Mecklenburg, Pommern, Sachsen, Bohemia, Austria, Sweden and Denmark and other countries. The Swedish branch belongs probably to the latter line, but no clear evidence. The family was registred at the Finish house of nobility 5 Feb 1818 as no. 63. | |
