(Asbury Park Press) REV. NORMAN ALBERT WINTER AGE: 79 WHITING Rev. Norman Albert Winter, 79, of Whiting, Manchester, formerly of Hawthorne, died Monday, June 1, 2009, at his home in Whiting. He was former pastor of the First Baptist Church of Hawthorne, and former visitation pastor of the Whiting Bible Church, Whiting. Rev. Winter attended the Nyack Missionary College, and with his new family went to Azrou, Morrocco as a missionary. He served as the pastor of the Central Nyack Congregational Church, and in 1971 became pastor of the First Baptist Churt5ch of Hawthorne, retiring from there in 2000. He leaves behind his wife of 52 years, Lois Ellen Kratz Winter; three sons, Stephen of Hawthorne, Timothy of San Diego, Calif., and Kenneth of Prospect Park; four daughters, Deborah Raukohl of Peekskill, N.Y., Judith Smith and Patricia Cash of Gaithersburg, Md., and Catherine Tussi of Hawthorne; 12 grandchildren; a great-grandson; and a brother, Clifford Winter of Nobleboro, Maine. Visiting hours will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, June 4 at the Anderson and Campbell Funeral Home, 115 Lacey Road, Whiting. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, June 5 at the Whiting Bible Church, Whiting, and 10 a.m. Saturday, June 6 at the First Baptist Church of Hawthorne, Hawtorne. Burial will follow at the Valleau Cemetery, Ridgewood. He is with his Lord and Savior now.
