Olaus Larsson was a wheelwright who worked on a large estate, propably Börringe priory, with many tenant/workers - crofters. He was a very educated man for that time and position. Working conditions were very difficult. Because he was educated, the other estate workers asked him to speak for them to the owner (might have been Beck-Friis) to request changes. When he went to the owner with the crofters requests, he was "fired" - dismissed from his work, which must have meant losing his livelihood. Because he has spoken for them, the other crofters then supported Olaus and his family.
