"He moved to "Kaarnovuono". Thomas v. Westen sent him as a cathecist to Lyngen and Ulya, but the priest in Karlsoy Micael Heggelund Karlsoyssa drove him away from there. Priest (provast) Henning Junghans from Tromsö, who announced to v. Westen what had happened: "Has anyone else in this country experienced a worse attack than the good Tornensis". A year later v. Westen announced that Tornensis worked as a cathecist in Lyngen and Olya and he had earlier worked as a cathecist in Teno. In 1743 major Peter Schnitler wrote in his research protocol that Johannes Tornens had a countryside farm and a family at Quenangen "fjord"."
